As the Director of this position you will support leadership to facilitate and manage the enterprise architecture deliverables and objectives such as change control, technology risks, technology selection and architecture framework. The position also implements and maintains enterprise architecture tools to promote compliance with standards and processes.

Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities)

Solutions Architecture:

  • Develop and maintain strategic and technology road maps
  • Leads the internal governance processes for technology selection
  • Participates in the creation and maintenance of IT strategy and planning
  • Take ownership of technology stack definition for the organization and aligning all design for data management and application development
  • Capture/document Business Architecture (Vision, Strategy and Goals) into enterprise architecture repository
  • Assist in defining, manage, and improve architecture service level reporting
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technology and business process trends within the industry
  • Manages day-to day relationships with all IT teams to ensure the delivery of services meets or exceeds the business's expectations
  • Manages critical architecture issues that cross organizational boundaries
  • Communicates important policy changes that affect service provider and/or business operations

 

Specific Projects

  • Design and develop platform for our business
  • Integrate the following technologies and solutions CRM and Vault, AWS stack, Databricks or Cloudera, Tableau, etc.
  • Provide effective, innovative solutions to meet business requirements
  • Maintain positive relationships with business analysis, product design and product development team members both internal and external
  • Provide positive direction, leadership, and advice on IT projects
  • Project is completed within time estimates and costs provided

 

Implementing and Maintaining Enterprise Architecture Tools

  • Builds, maintains, implements, and monitors an architecture risk assessment/management process
  • Defines Technology Governance committee and processes
  • Facilitates project compliance with defined enterprise architecture processes
  • Builds and maintains a standard set of enterprise architecture tools and processes that will provide the right level of governance for all IT teams

 

Architectural Design

  • Adhere to agreed SDLC standards and processes including design and code reviews.
  • Produce clear, concise, accurate and reliable technical documentation and reports
  • Provide recommendations that produce positive application/information benefits and/or improved integration/operations control information
  • Design product frameworks that produce the most efficient, effective technical solution
  • Produce accurate and reliable estimates of solution architecture design time
  • Produce functional decomposition of proposed solutions for use by the product managers in build estimation.
  • Report continuous process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and promote positive constructive relationships with business analysis, product design and development team members, software providers and IR Management
  • Minimize the risk of adverse architectural impacts resulting from implementation of software changes
  • Facilitate acceptance of architecture variance with the domain standards team
  • Participate constructively in the implementation review process
  • Ensure project deliverables are consistent with user requirements and good practice
  • Display initiative in dealing with architectural issues related to the project
  • Maintain positive relationships with business analysis, product design and product development team members and IR Management
  • Provide positive direction, leadership, and advice on IT projects

Specific Candidate Profile Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in technical architecture, information architecture and solution architecture discipline
  • Five year's recent experience in selecting and leveraging current and emerging technologies across IT platforms
  • Three year's recent experience with architectural frameworks, IT Governance, technology roadmaps, enterprise technology selection and the various approaches to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Facilitation and management of cross functional, sourced, or matrix teams
  • Graduate degree or undergraduate degree (e.g. Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Engineering)
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and problem resolution skills
  • Experience with or working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies and best-practices, including but not limited to version control (Git, TFS, Subversion, etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc.), automated unit testing, DevOps.
  • Ability to lead and development a team of high performing IS professionals.

 

Preferred:

  • Technical architecture, infrastructure architecture and solutions deliver experience
  • Proven leadership experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure architecture and application development
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the IT functional areas
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of business environment, service requirements and culture
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms
